Morasha (Heritage) Party

Morasha (Heritage) Party
A political party created by a splinter group from the National Religious Party (NRP) that joined with Poalei Agudat Israel to contest the 1984 Knesset election. The party advocated more Jewish settlement of the West Bank and claimed the support of Gush Emunim. Hanan Porat and Rabbi Haim Druckman, formerly of the NRP, were leaders of the party, which combined religious orthodoxy and a demand for more territory. It merged with the NRP faction in the Knesset in July 1986.
